Tubing Hanging

Walking to my truck from work and saw tube hanging down on drivers side. the rubber tube is about 1/2" and has a white plasic end on it Thought at it was ABS, but it acually goes to the four wheel drive. I am guessing it goes to the 4 wheel drive lever. Am I in the right direction. I didn't try because I wasn't sure what would happen.

That is your differential vent tube that normally is attached to the passenger-side inside fender. If you look you can see a plastic attachment point that must have let go.
