Anybody have any hands on experience with this item? Does it work as good as they say or just B. S ? Thanks, Chris

Chris, I have one of the early pre-production units and it "does" make a difference in my truck. I drive a lot of low speed gravel roads at low rpm in often too high a gear. With the TAG, I have a small, but noticable increase in low rpm power. A little less smoke and it does a great job of reducing turbo noise.

good

I have a tag 3 on my 02 and the first version on my 96 ... . I tried both on the 02. didnt notice a difference between the two. Both do allow turbo to spool up quicker and turbo whine is quieter.

I have a TAG 1 on my '02. The only thing I can feel is that the engine seems smoother. That's about as subjective an impression as you can get. Emperically, the turbo spools a little quicker, which reduces low rpm smoke. While cruising, especially towing, the average boost is a little lower, 1-2 psi, which means less fuel is being burned for the same speed. The TAG is kind of like fuel conditioners and multi-vitamins. Better with than without, but if you were missing it, you might not notice. If you want to feel power, add fuel.

Happy New Year,

Neil

The guys on NWB are more into competition & big dyno #'s. The TAG is more for low end responce & fuel efficiency. It did just that for my truck. I hardly ever use full throttle at peak rpm but I do appreciate quick throttle responce from lower rpm & the TAG does help with that.
