I am about to order some injectors and a box for my truck. Thought I better check to see if someone has stuck anything on before I order. I know there is not a box, but anything else I wouldnt be 100% sure since I never really looked and bought it with 160k on the clock.

Therefore how can I tell what size of turbine housing I have. I assume there are numbers on the housing itself. What would I be looking for. From what I read the truck should of came with the 16cm housing w/ the HX35.

Secondly I want to see if the injectors are stock or rebuilt stockers (or if I am lucky something else :-laf). Is there a tell-tell sign or marking to see if they are factory issue?

Whoops forgot to mention its for my 02 listed in my sig.

You will get honest, knowledgeable advice from Rip or Bill at:

DiPricol Gauges

Located in Portland, so if you're close, a definite plus for a personal visit. I've spent my kids inheritance at their shop.

Edit: don't know why the DiPricol thing came up, but I've advised Rip so he can fix it.

You can tell whether a truck has been modified or not by the boost and EGT it makes. Since you have gauges, what do you see for boost and EGT at full throttle on flat ground?

A stock 2nd gen 24 valve truck typically makes about 18 to 22 psi boost.

I have only seen boost that high when really getting on it. It seems to hang around 14-16 when driving aggresive like merging onto a freeway. Other then that usually under 10.

Thought it might be something different, seems to spool up fast, well faster then I recall a buddies similiar truck.

Sounds like it's still stock. Even mild injectors will allow 25 psi or more boost at full throttle.

It's possible that buddy's truck has some leaks in the intake side, like the intercooler boots or other areas, which would tend to slow turbo spooling.

I'd say go for the new injectors and box and have fun.

Is the clutch still factory? The stock clutch on my truck could only handle 60 hp injectors. When I added an edge EZ, the clutch was toast. If it is you will want to replace it, I replaced mine with a SouthBend FE clutch. They have nice dual disc clutch kits. Sam

Stock 02 came with 12cm housing with the 6 speed and the 9cm with the auto, i have seen a couple with a 12cm on an auto that had been replaced at a dealer under warranty. Now as far as injectors go even if it has rv275's it will haze more than stockers will, but it sounds like to me it is still all stock.

I dont have the money right now for a clutch. Should I just get the Edge EZ and then wait on the injectors? I am real easy on the truck and just want the extra power for towing and hopefully better mileage.

EZ and RV275 are fine

I ran an EZ and RV275s in Mine without burning up the clutch. I put the EZ in At around 20k and the RV injectors in At 75k I tow a 24' toy hauler and now have 125k and the original clutch is doing fine. Just remember to use 1st gear on heavy starts and don't spin the clutch and it will last forever.

Oh yea, I switched out the EZ for a Smarty and like the smooth throttle response much better than the EZ. Go with the Smarty you'll like it a lot better than the EZ.

With 160k on the truck you'll be soon looking at a new clutch if you put big sticks in it. Clutch is the weak link when it comes to performance mods.

I decided to wait on the injectors just for that reason too. Got a quadzilla box that I will keep on the lowest settings until a new clutch is acquired. The only time I might turn on the box for more power is when I am heading over the pass here is Oregon. From what I have read the box has a setting of P0, which says its turned off with only a boost fooler.
