i need to make alittle more boost ,,right now i can only see 40-43 psi ,,, do i need the adjust the\waste gate or a new boost elbow,,, or make the waste gate arm shorter or longer????
I didn't see any mention of turbo upgrade in your signature, I may have not recognized it either. That said, I can tell you that my oem turbo would boost around 30'ish and then I went to the 62/14cm from Schwitzer. I wasn't impressed until I found out that I had three intake leaks. Two I'll bet were from the new turbo "blowing out" my intake manifold gasket in two places. The third was a tiny hole burnt in the plastic line leading up to the gauge. Many people kept saying "leaks" but no ideas how to find them on a noisy 12v'r. Mark at Pier's said to pressurize the system to 20 psi. With that idea I got two pucks made, one with a air line regulator and a quick air line disconnect installed and the other with a 30 psi gauge screwed into it. From the first rubber hose off the turbo to the last rubber hose before the ATS arc flow elbow all was fine. I removed the puck with the gauge from the last hose before the intake and reconnected the rubber hose to the intake. With 20 psi going into the intake I found that third leak. The first two was a matter of looking, I could see one intake gasket edge outside the cover plate, the other one was inside and back where I couldn't see it until I removed the intake cover plate. The air line pucks will show up any leaks in short order. I had the pucks made at Desert Molding Concepts Inc. 15370 Cholame #13 in Victorville, Ca 92392. I told the owner that I was going to post this information and that interested Dodge owner might be calling. Business phone is 760 955 1409
Sounds like me may have about the same thing. My 62/14 will bury the needle on my 35 psi guage. I guess I'll have to go to the 60 psi unit. Darn the luck. I do understand that pressures like this are hard on head gaskets. That'll be my next change. A ported head with o rings. Oo.
Not sure if there is one on that turbo , but there is a small elbow that some are putting on at turbo to tune the waste gate , goes between intake manifold hose & waste gate , has a needle valve for adjustment .
Some here in classifieds , permotions .
