Early 80's Nissan 4x4's have divorced transfer cases.

The 300D 5 cyl is essentially a 240D motor with an extra cylinder. It looks like it would be pretty easy to plug off the 5th cyl on the manifolds to put a turbo on the 4 cyl which never came with a turbo. Any thoughts? Use 300D injectors and what else? It looks like it might be possible to plug one injector hole on the 300D pump even if I would need to use a turbo pump. Any thoughts?

Mercedes Design Philosophy

Turbo Charge a non-turbo Mercedes motor and you WILL severely shorten it's life span. Your two biggest obstacles are different types of pistons and no piston oil cooler lines. Mercedes motors in general aren't very bombable. One might say "but AMG does it". Yeah, they bomb Mercedes motors but when they do it, it isn't a turbo and some injectors like we do. They completely tear down the motor and replace and ad to key internal components. You basically get a completely different motor. Could you do it? Yeah, probably, but how deep are your pockets...

Could you tear down a 4 cyl motor and put in the turbo pistons from a 5 cyl? How about those oil cooler lines? Where are they and where do they go? Are they in the crank case? Could they be added to a 240 block? According to my Motor manual, the turbo motors actually have higher compression than the NA motors. Are the turbo pistons stronger?

All real good questions. You really need to talk to someone who is well versed in Mercedes motors and has a good working knowledge of Mercedes parts system. Here is a good start, http://lists.mbz.org. I try to stick with stock configs when their isn't a huge aftermarket of verdors blazing trails for us.
