Early Christmas gift from my girlfriend was the Shut Down Timer from Genos. Installed it and it would not work, I called BD, we confirmed that all connections were right and tight, nothing; they sent me another one. While waiting I got the first one to work on time only.
I hooked the ylw/red lead wires right off the thermocouple ylw/red wires before it went into the cable this time, I tried cutting into the cable and hooking it there the first time. I have tried switching the leads and that did not work. I know the thermocouple is reading because my gauge works fine.
The second one came in yesterday I put it in and it would not shut down in temperature mode. I have not opened the box yet to set it for timer because I do not want it on timer I want it on Temperature.
I have the Edge Comp and had to shut that down before it would work with timer, then it worked with it off and on. I only needed to cut it off for the first time. Only in timer mode though; it didn't make any difference in temp mode.
Could the smarty be affecting it? Has anyone else had these problems and found a solution. I really do want to send it back but I want it to work as advertised. Most of the time letting it idle for a minute after shutdown is way to long.
