Hi all, in the process of installing my twins. I need to remove the 1 piece accordian style turbo drain line from the block. I sprayed it down with wd40 and have gotten it to rotate freely but cannot get it to "pop" out of the bore. I am getting frustrated as I have already "struggled" with the steel coolant line that runs under the manifold. Anyone have any suggestions?

it only has one or two rubber orings holding it in the block. mine was a little difficult too, i just kept tuggin and pullin and cussin and it finally came out. gently lock some vise-grip pliers around drain tube and tap pliers with rubber mallet or just use the pliers to push up to release it from block. hopefully this helps.

p. s. watch your knuckles when it finally gives.

Ok thanks, I will give that a try tomorrow nite as I have had enough for tonight. Sometimes I wonder why I like to do this type of stuff:-laf

Yeah you will pretty much destory the tube when it comes out. Vise grips and grab it low and it should pop-out. Just be VERY careful when you install the new drain. A piece of my new oil drain tube broke into the oil pan. I managed to get it out by dropping the pan.

Ok guys, worked on it tonight and finally got it out. It absolutely was a real pain. Ended up with a hole thru it and was able to go all the way thru with a screwdriver and gently pry upwards on the block. I gingerly would spray it down and work it back and forth and then pry up. I was able to get the first o ring up far enough to remove the o ring. Thought the battle was over... ..... no dice. I continued in this fashion for quite awhile. As you can see(if i can attach pics) I had almost torn all the way thru which would have been REAL ugly. Once out it was evident that there was quite a bit of rust lurking down there! I am so pleased I may have a beer:)Thanks for the encouragement. And the last picture is from NOT paying attention when it "popped. Thanks again,

Mike

At least you won the battle..... sorry about the knuckle. You will be a happy man when you finish those twins. Your going to have a smile on your face for awhile.

Fortunately the Bd kit doesnt utilize the factory tube:-laf. But appreciate the help. Now for a new thread on install questions:)
