I've been thinking about installing an oil bypass filtration system & have been looking for a place to return the filtered oil.
The turbo has what looks like a 3/4" return pipe & hose going into the engine block. The supply line delivering oil to the turbo only looks like 3/8". I was wondering if you could put a "Y" in the return line & tap the return from the bypass filter, there? I believe the bypass filter flows about one quart per minute (Oilguard).
I'm just a bit concerned about "overflowing" that return line & possibly creating enough back pressure that the turbo return will not flow adequately. I'd like to do this to keep the length of bypass hoses to a minimum.
Does this sound like a good or bad idea? 3/4" hosing looks like it might flow quite a bit of oil but, I'd go to "Plan B" rather than risk damaging my turbo.
Thanks.
