Bob, can the RAM dealers get engineering prints?? I can for about anything on a big truck but know that sometimes automotive doesn't work like that....

Thanks for the info, everyone. My local dealer does not discount their parts, so I'd be paying full MSRP and probably waiting two weeks for them to special order it. I don't even bother with them anymore. I can find the Dodge part online for quite a bit less and I'm going to order it and see what shows up. I settled on the BD Super-B turbo and should have everything by this weekend to get the truck back on the road. Will let you know how it turns out.

In terms of smarty allowing more boost than stock it all depends on the Revo settings. A S-06 can allow a lot more boost than stock without a boost fooler or adjustable boost elbow on a 2007.

Stock boost settings allow 30-32 peak.

I'd check your Smarty settings and see if the wastegate was enabled or disabled.

Just an update on this project.

Firstly, Intercooler part 5170704AJ is indeed still the thicker unit, so I'm good there.

The truck is back together and finally running again. The BD turbo came with a new downpipe which is about 4 feet long. This required dropping the transmission x-member and also completely re-plumbing the stock exhaust as the new downpipe terminated right smack dab in the middle of the catalytic converter!

I also torqued down the intake elbow too much and cracked it, so now I have a new BD unit there too.

I'm taking it easy on the turbo right now, but ran it over the weekend and it makes good boost and no oil leaks so everything appears good to go. Thanks for all the advice on this thread and other older threads too. This community is such a great resource!
