Just did an oil change and while i was under the hood, i was touching all the bolts and nuts trying to feel if anything was loose. When i got to the nuts that hold the turbo to the exhaust manifold, one of them was totally loose, it spun just by touching it. Does anybody know the Torque specs for these nuts? I did a search but all i found for an answer was "I looked but could find no mention of torque specs". Does anybody have a shop manual? I have never heard of an item on an engine that does not have a torque spec. Thats a disaster waiting to happen. HELP!

The manual says: Install the turbocharger. Apply anti-seize to the studs and tighten the mounting nuts to 32 Mm (24 ft. lbs. ) torque. (This info was on page 9-194 in a 99 Service Manual) On page 9-252 in the same manual under the list of "Torque Specifications" it states: Turbocharger to exhaust manifold nuts 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs. ) Take your pick ! I'm confused.

I have a 2002 service manual and it states 24 ft. -lbs. for the turbo to manifold and 32 ft. -lbs. for the manifold to head.

This info is on page 9-186. I hope this will help.
