I am going to start experimenting with different exhaust housing sizes and will need a few flange gaskets. I know I can get turbo flange gaskets from HTT. I was wondering if anybody has ever had any luck getting them from one of their local parts houses. The NAPA in my town does not have access to it, or so they think.

Thanks in advance.

M,

I live clear across the country, but I got mine at NAPA. They were very thin, and not the waffle looking kind I expected, so I put 2 on mine. Also, when I was messing around with housing changes, I took the oil line loose on the engine side, so I wouldn't have to mess with that gasket.

Good luck!

Phil,

Would you happen to have a part number from your Napa? It seems that some of this cummins stuff is a struggle for the guys I deal with at Napa. They are real nice people but not the kind of help I used to get. I'm sure it was a while ago when you purchased yours so you probably dont have the number, but if you do please post it here so others can share it or P. M me if you like. Thanks

Mark.

Mark,

I'm sorry that I no longer have that number. But for what it's worth, anything else you could come up with would probably be better. I didn't mention, but because they were so thin I was afraid they wouldn't seal properly.

For that reason, I also slathered high temp anti-seize compound on the gasket surface. On that note, put some on the housing bolts when you reassemble. I took mine loose a year after installing and they came out a lot easier than the first time.

Armed with the Part # youwill find this flange gasket along with the other at any truck dealership/performance shop/and as mentioned Ag or construction dealersip. Also any school bus dealership/marine aplications dealer.

LOL I think cummins engines are used to power anything from river boats/4WD farm tractors to sewing machines. Hummm... ... wonder why the six-oh powerjoke aint used in all the stuff.
