I am going to install an exhaust manifold. I have a blemished DPS on the way. I ordered a new tubo gasket but read somewhere that the split type is for a manual, and the open type is for an automatic. Why would this be? If that is the case I have the wrong one. Could I just snip out the middle portion if this is true? Or does it really matter? I also order stainless stud kit. I heard this makes the job a bit easier and I have a problem with using old bolts. I would appreciate any tips that will make the job go smoother.

thanks,

Exhaust manifold to Head gaskets are all the same from 98.5 to 18, 5.9 & 6.7.

The Turbo to Manifold gasket is the same (Std or Manu trans) from 89 to 02.

As far as studs, I think the problem will be getting the two center (cylinder 3-4) nuts on with the manifold in the way. I'm not sure, but I know for some reason I was going to stud the manifold and ended up using the allen socket cap screws that came with the ATS 3-piece I got when my stock manifold cracked. This was back in 05 so the old memory might be off as far as studs vs. screws.
