I just got the dreadd 2262 and P2563? codes. My Edge insight describes the 2563 as "Turbo sensor, mechanical" Noticed the truck was bucking a little on the highway and the throttle response was down. Then started hearing an unusual noise from the right front passenger area near the turbo. Sounds mechanical like an actuator trying to operate.
Then when parked at home with the key on and engine off, I hear a high pitched whine coming from the area of the turbo and about every five seconds the sound would change, again like an electrical motor or actuator trying to work.
This all came up shortly after installing an EGT probe. Is it possible that some shavings could cause the problem? I was careful when drilling and tapping. Used grease on the bits and cleaned them frequently.
Alredy talked to the Service Manager who is a friend. He is out of town but said he would check it out when he gets back. Hoprfully it's a coincidence that it happened around the same time as the RGT probe, or I might be paying for a new turbo.
Also, while driving on the interstate at 75 mph just as all these problems began to show up, my truck went into regen, 80% message on EVIC and all. During this regen I saw the EGT spike at about 1620*. I don't know how acurate the Insight is as far as temp. goes. The EGT probe is pre-turbo in the exhaust manifold at the collector just above the turbo. I do know over 1450* is getting into trouble, so I backed down until regen stopped. Could this high temp. spike be the cause or is it a symptom of all my woes?
I'm guessing, with the codes and all, that my slide ring on the turbo is stuck. Will have ti take it to the dealer next week.
Any other ideas or suggedtions are welcome.
