I am currently running a BD super B s300 and I was wondering if I should sell it and buy a new one from II or HTT or if I should send it to Htt and have it upgraded. I am thinking of a 62 12,or 14 or a 64 12 or 14. I want the best of all worlds Which would be the best fit for me with my current mods. I want it to spool up at a lower rpm and cool egts to the max. I will be adding a smarty soon and was going to stay with the current sticks for now and see how it goes. At upgrade time I will be adding an ATS 3 piece manifold and intake tube. It is a daily driver,It tows 20k on occasion and I started sled pulling this year I'm hooked now, next year it will be a regular locally. I read a thread about a LDP "low drive pressure" housing on 1 but can't remember which one had it,to help spool faster and keep egts down would this be a good choice and which size housings would you all recommend at this point with info given? Would anyone recommend the drag comp upgrade or stick with smarty and regular comp?I would like to be in the 500+hp range when done.

All input is welcome. :)

I read a thread about a week ago on a HTT group buy but can't find it now,was it removed and or who was offering it?

I don't think your going to get one that will spool sooner than the BD. The HTT and II are modifed s300s. Now the larger turbine wheel series from HTT(high teck series) and II(Super Phat Shaft) once lit will spool faster, but they won't spool sooner. The high tech and spuer phat shafts are the LDP setup that your referring too. Nothing Wrong with a drag comp, but if yoru going with smarty I would go with a redline box so you can get some more RPM. 500 HP I would suggest a 62mm style, since you pull 20K.

need to figure what you are wanting to accomplish. It sounds like you want the best of both worlds and this is hard to find. For max power and lower egt's with really big boxes, then the super B is not the one for you. If you want a good daily driver, fast spooling, and good reliable moderate power then the BD Super B is Very hard to beat and it my opinion none of hytech's turbos are going to be better. The super B has a very well designed intake pinwheel. Take it for what its worth. The first thing you need to do is see whats the most important things you want your truck for.

Richard said it right(best of both worlds) = twins. The twins will stick you in a class of pulling that you probably don't want to be in. The $$ you will spend to get a slight increase over the turbo you have will be quite a bit.

I thought about twins but wasn't sure the advantage of them over a good single. The reason I don't like the super B single is that the egts are through the roof under any driving condition and with the auto transmission at lower rpms with converter locked it will not even start to spool until 1800+rpm. I think I would need to go to 150Hp sticks to get full bebefit also,Is this what you think would benefit me the best?As for sled pulling around here a diesel is a diesel it gets stuck in a heavyweight class no matter what engine mods just can't have a blocked suspension.

Then stick the twins in it, get a set of 200 HP injectors, Oring or fire ring the head, and GO!!

I ran 130HP injectors with my HTB2 62/12 and the only issue I had with it was under 2000 rpm in 6th gear while towing 12-13K

Twins do rock on cool power and serious HP even in the most extreme towing conditions. If you've got a decent size budget - I say twins all the way.

if you don't care about reliability, money (or lack of after the purchase), lack of real power, weight, being able to work on the passenger side of your truck, and blowing every gasket on your motor, then i guess you could go twins

LOL tell us how you really feel. I don't think everyone was saying to put a big brother for the small charger. :-laf

I know for what I want I should go with twins but I am pretty set with going with a good single and have decided it will 99% be a HTT super stock 62 ldp. I think after all the responses and research and PM's that this would be the best fit for me.

Thanks for the help guys. :)
