HEY everyone. just became a member! I have a 24v with a tst powermax, dr performace stage 2... (came with the truck). and i think its about time to start spending some more money on my truck and a little less on some other things..... girls anyways i have a pac brake that i would like to keep if i can. but i would rather get rid of it if its going to end up just being a wast of time. once i pick a turbo out im going to be ordering a new clutch. . then im ganna pick out a set of injectors. iv been looking at the B1 turbo line and there is one that would allow me to keep my pac brake for now. does anyone know if it can be used in a twin set up. or even how well they work? with the powermax on i run 35lbs of boost and can hit 1500 degrees in a matter of seconds...

thanks

well welcome to the bombing addiction club! you need to post what year model etc etc truck you have with a manual i am assuming and whether its a high output or standard output. i am in the same boat as you as i have a tst powermax 3, and am looking at doing a turbo/injectors. i would like to do the injectors now but i dont think i can do the injectors before doing a turbo, but what i have seen the HTB2 and the SPS66 turbos are lookin good! it all depends on where you wanna be

awww sorry... thanks for telling me i thought i had gottin the Signature down but must not have... . il try agian. but if i dosent work

1998. 5 24v 4x4 quadcab long bed 4" lift with 35s. tst power max3. . dr performance stage 2 ( not sure what all they did maybe someone can help me with that)... Straight piped afe aftermarket air filter...

the question i have is. Is there a singe turbo that can be used in a twin set that will alow me to keep my pac brake for now. as i cant aford to buy a set at this time but am looking to make the first step in that direction. but the more i look into it the more it sounds like its time to ditch the pac brake. . im looking at a htb2 has anyone used one in a twin set up?

I have see some Bx/Bx twin setups. PowerbyPoole.com does Bx's.

I run a KSB1-B and not a lot of fuel and it is laggy until 10#, but then runs really well. Runs well towing as I normally have 10 - 12 #.

Do twins and the following should not be a problem.

I run DD2's (probably not enough fuel / drive pressure for the KSB1-B) and until I have built 10# boost the KSB1-B is laggy (rotational initeria).

Justin,

Good to finally have ya on the TDR. :p :D

I would have to say that going with an HTB2 is a good step towards a twin setup due to the various larger compressor housing options you can go with. But you still have to consider what you have to do to the engine to prepare for twins. O-ringing the head would be a good idea as well as a porting job for better flow. I would definately ditch the brake, I know, it sounds cool and turns heads, but how much do you tow now-a-days? It's all about performance if your talkin' twins. Just go with the HTB2 and stack that box! :D Oo.

yea i know. dont tow much and iv never really had to much trouble keepin her undercontrol on the downhill grades. but now im ganna have all these switches on my shifter that dont do anything... i blew up my overdrive and had to take it off. oh yea that reminds me did u have a drop on your carrier bearing?

Just take the nonfuntional switches off the shifter, it's that easy.

I still have not dropped my carrier and I don't need to. The angles on the two rear u-joints aren't that bad, as long as I keep their planes on the same angle, their good. I did replace the carrier with a new one recently from Quad 4x4, good pricing.

Good job on the gear vendor explosion. :-laf You didn't need it anyway, you have a six speed.

yea if u think the overdrive blowin was fun try a cracked case on the transfer case... yea 6 speed with 4. 10's i can bearly do a hundred now :( im ganna miss the switches... il prolly just leave em for telling my friend they are N20 and propain... . i have this vibration when i first take off and i cant figure out what it is. i though it might be the carrier bearing? it goes away as soon as im into the throttle.

What the hell are you doin' to your truck? Broke the transfer case? Jeez man, you gonna have money for a turbo and such?

You said your clutch is toast, it could be your throw-out bearing or possibly something coming apart on the clutch. My Centerforce sounded like hell before I replaced it with my SBC OFE. It was toast and the throw-out bearing was really dry of any grease. Not saying that is your issue but just trying to throw out ideas.
