I’ve decided that I want to remove my turbo before drilling my exhaust manifold for an EGT thermocouple. After all, if I can’t perform that simple task, I’m truly at the mercy of my local DC dealer for all service, and that is an ugly thought.

I’ve already purchased all of the gaskets, under $2 total at the local Cummins shop #ad
. I’ve got all of the tools. I have the gauge and thermocouple.

What I don’t have is all of the torque specs for re-installing the turbo. If one of you fine gentleman (or ladies) have a shop manual and could provide them, I’d greatly appreciate it. As best as I can determine, I need the torque specs. for the following fasteners: Turbo (to Exhaust Manifold) Mounting Nuts, Oil Return Mounting Bolts, Oil Supply Line Nut, and the Exhaust Flange Bolts (Exhaust Pipe to Turbo Elbow).

According to my 1998 service manual from Chrylser, the following torgues are listed:
Turbo to exhaust: 24 ft lbs or 32 N. m
oil supply line to turbocharger bolts:18 ft lbs or 24 N. m
Oil supply line nut: 133 INCH lbs or 20 N. m
Exhaust bolts: 25 ft lbs or 34 N. m
Air inlet pipe nuts: 72 INCH lbs or 8 N. m
