Hope this is the right Forum for this question I have a 96 Cummings with a Banks Turbo system. Recently, the turbo "dump" has opened up while driving and I loose power. I banged on the waste gate actuator and it works fine now. Should I replace the waste gate actuator? Thanks in advance.

Len and again thanks

I would remove the actuator and check the wastegate can pivot freely.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I will give that a try today, if it ever warms up here. I live in So. Ca. in the hills above LA, and the temp this AM is 19 degrees.

There are some good videos on YouTube that explain the operation, function & correct procedures for adjusting.
Staying with stock boost range is recommended without further engine mods.

Thanks very much. Yes, I watched several videos related to the Dodge and it was very good. Again many thanks.
