I need some one's advise about my turbo. I have a 05 5. 9 with a banks innercooler, banks high rise, edge juice with three position switch, AEM brute force intake. My turbo has started making a high pitch hissing scream when under accelaration. I have checked all the boot connections from the turbo to the intake manifold and they are fine and hold pressure. It still builds boost and spools up fine, I just can't find where this noise is coming from. Could the wastegate be malfunctioning? It is very loud and resonates in the cab. It starts at 10 psi and gets increasingly louder as the boost builds up. If anyone knows what this is and how I can resolve it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Remove the intake elbow and check for play in the rotating assembly. Any in and out play means your turbo is on overtime. If that's the case, replace it before it blows.

If you still have the stock air intake tube, you can go to Home Depot and buy a 4" pvc plug, drill and tap it for a schrader valve. Then hose clamp it into your original intake tube, connect it to the turbo, then start putting air pressure to it until you find the leak...

I pressured tested the hoses and innercooler by disconnecting the hoses from the turbo and intake. I bought a rubber cap and hose clamp along with a rubber reducer from 3" to 2" with matching hose clamps, pvc and brass fittings, a ball valve and pressure gage from lowes and made a device I could attach a hose from my compressor, then regulated the pressure to 30 psi. I recently just replaced the hose from my intake to the boost gauge with a plastic tube I purchased from Auto Zone. The original rubber hose that came with the gauge (Westach) detoriated. I thought that was my problem at first, but the noise is still there.

I agree with the manifold to turbo I have had to replace 5 of them on my 03 and I get same noise your describing in fact I need to replace it again but will wait till spring when I get my new manifold I have reserficed mine twice now as well as the turbo easy fix other than reaching it good luck with it
