Was driving down the interstate up a hill pulling a trailer and it's as if the turbo stopped working. I took it easy the rest of the trip, but it will not go above 11 lbs of boost no matter what, whereas before it would go much much higher. It sounds like there could be an exhaust leak, but not 100% sure. Any thoughts??? Is it ok to drive???

It's an '02 3500 5spd 4. 10LSD QuadCab LB 4x4

Check all of your boost hoses for tears, and the clamps are tight.

If you have an exhaust leak pre turbo, it will be easy to find. Look for soot around seams.

I would bet its the first boot connection after the compressor, the one between the compressor and the inlet to the intercooler. Feel with your fingers on the bottom side of the boot.

cheers, Kevin

When mine did that it was a fuel delivery problem from the overflow valve but symptoms were exactly the same. Check fuel pressure if your boots check out ok.
