It appears that I have a leak in the top of the turbo oil return line, where it bolts to the bottom of the turbo. Anyone ever have this? It the fix as simple as re-torquing the bolts to 18lbs/ft or is there a gasket in there that has failed? Truck only has 27K on it. Just notice the leak tonite while under hood. The return line was wet with oil for about 2 inchs on the top.

Thanks in advance.

ps I would rather fix it myself than the dealer, unless it is real involved.

Cool thanks tom, Thats what I figured. I thought that the oil just kinda flow down the tube with out any or very little pressure from the turbo. I'll try getting a torque wrench and extention up there, its looks pretty tight.

Thanks

i had to replace my upper hose it was leaking around where the fitting was crimped on. i do think there is a o-ring inside the fitting but thats it, DC wanted over 100. 00 for the thing but cummins sold it to me for 35. 00. .

Re-tightened the bolts, they were both loose with one needing about a whole turn to get tight. Couldnt get my torque wrench and my fat hands in there at the same time, even with removing as much stuff as possible so i just tightened them as tight as i could get them. We'll see in the next couple of days if it leaks. I cleaned the area rear well with brake cleaner so it will be obvious if it leaks.

Thanks
