Went to hook up the turbo oil supply line up to my new PDR HX35 on my 89 which had a nonIC H1C and the fitting on the hose that threads into the turbo is too big for the HX35. Has anyone else run into this problem? From a search I came up with Cummins pn 3912747 for a new supply hose which I assume is for a IC'D model. About $16. 69 from reliablegoods.com. Is this what I need? Will 3912747 attach fine to the HX35? Thanks, Bill

Could you transfer the fitting over from the old turbo? If yours is like mine, it looks to be a separate fitting threaded into the cartridge body.

Alan, are you saying I may have two fittings still attached to my oil supply line? ie an adaptor to a bigger fitting for the old turbo? I checked the old H1C and there is no fitting inside the supply inlet.

No I'm saying the fitting that is still on the old turbo may unscrew from it & thread into the new turbo body after removing what ever fitting is on the new one.

This may be pie in the sky if the new turbo has no fitting screwed into it, just a threaded hole the oil line goes into.

Thats it, no fitting in it, just a threaded hole. ?? What to do now? Sorry if this is obvious or a stupid question.

Well it looks like I need that fitting in the pic. I bet that was used on the 91. 5+ models, maybe my nonIC'd turbo already had the bigger port for the hose, didn't need the reducer fitting. ?? Anyone got a spare laying around? This a cheap part? How bout the thread sizes?

Bill,

There must be local shop that makes up hydraulic hoses and that kind of thing.

Just take everything there and they should be able to match up the fittings.

It's alive!!

Went to my favorite junkyard and got the fitting I needed off a core hx35, no charge woo hooo! Bleed my inj lines got it running naturally aspirated, the intercooler is bolted up, but IC is not plumbed. I've hit another obstacle, the charge air pipes don't reach. Lucky MIDon gave me two charge air pipes, which I will have about 3" cut and welded into the pipes for them to reach each end. Obviously on the IC'd models the core support moves the radiator and intercooler about 2. 5" give or take closer to the engine. All my fellow nonIC'd guys beware. I'll post a better write up on the IC install, and I'm gonna try hard to use the 89 grill, which is another story.

Bill, Bill, Bill. The fitting Paychk posted WILL fit from our nonIC H1Cs to the HX35; at least mine did. It is an adaptor, I believe. It was like $3 from Case IH for mom's truck. Not sure why we got a new one, but we did. ALso, dont forget a new o-ring to go with the new adaptor.

DP, yeah it did fit just fine, I wasn't saying it wouldn't just my new PDR HX35 didn't have the fitting. On my old H1C it didn't have the fitting already, it has a bigger port, the hose threads directly into it. On the fitting I got from the junkyard, it has a o-ring, and looks like a copper gasket of somesorts inside where the hose threads in.

Did ya get the new filter installed yet? Price a outerwears prefilter yet? I haven't called them yet to find out...

Need said fitting now too

My rebuilt h1c I got from Philip has the newer threads that require the adapter fitting for the oil inlet ran into the same thing that Bill did. I have checked parts houses/hardware stores everywhere & Dodge would have to order it, and I will check with cummins tomorrow but to save greif does anyone have the part # on hand or specs for this adapter, o ring and washer? I will try to figure it out tomorrow... :p

I found this old thread and have a question. Does anyone have the part number for the adapter? I'm going to put a hx35 on my truck soon.
