 I am looking for more power I know its SAD. I have pleny of fuel Fass 150 and dd2s and a comp box, see signature, I tow a 13,600lb 5th wheel kit Millenium, and only run @65-60 on freeway with temps/ egts ranging from 1100 to 1300 depending on conditions etc, lower temps with box off :{ I currently have a piers hx35-40 hybrid with 14cm wastedgated housing I was looking @ the htb /series turbos and also about a twin setup, with the hx, I already have, I could go twins, which would be better a single bigger flow turbo or twins? I just dont want to be maxed out on my turbo that I have now, but I also want more power and keep my egts in check when I am pulling thanks for the help, cost wise which would be more effective

Good twins will flow more air. Normally you will also o-ring your head when doing twins, so this is an added expense. A good wastegated single that has a reasonable sized exhaust housing shouldwork well for you. Personally I tend to shy away from the HTB series turbos as the exhaust housing is pretty tight and there have been some surging issues.

With a good single you should be able to control your egts with no problem since you are running DD2's... .....

I agree. If you were running bigger injectors I'd say twins, but right now you don't have the fuel to light a big bottom turbo so your EGTs would likely be the same or higher. A fairly large single you shouldn't have a problem with. I'd say definitely o-ring or fire ring your head.

Head gaskets start to blow around 40-42 psi.

I am really close to the 40-42 psi mark with 5x5 level but I rarely have it on 5x5 I am usually on 3x5 or 4x5, when I pull I am on 1 or have the box off, I have it on level 2 in the winter when I am pulling the sleds a 3 place interstate approx 4000 or lbs, How much is it to get the head o -ringed or can you put a different head gasket on it? can a novice mechanic do it them selves or the shop has to o ring it ? thanks Deran.
