I have an 02 with an auto transmission and have an edge EZ and am looking to upgrade to f1. 6 injectors and possibly stack EZ with a tst or maybe just go EZ with smarty Would like to do both but $$$ says 1 or the other for know. I am wondering which turbo model it has now and housing size and which turbo model would work best for my application and housing size. I do a lot of 20K lb + loads towing 30ft flat bed or hauling cattle. Quite hilly areas but no mountains. I would like to put on an ats exhaust manifold also and who has the best price on injectors and turbo-manifolds?

Any input will be appreciated.

I see on the classifieds a lot of HX 35 W 14cm how willthis work for me or not how does housing size affect performance

Don't get to crazy before you do a little work to that TRANS. Check into a DTT 1 866 504 4002 That way you can fell the power and put it to the ground.

No problem with the transmission it is going to get full blown mod job within a month. it is getting the triple disc tc treatment and bigger inputshaft and valve body mods among other changes. its being built at a local shop that specializes in high hp high torque engine transmission's in dragsters they have built many for highly modified cummins. They informed me of what I already knew by researching several big name transmission shops, that many Big name transmission shops buy there parts from the same co. that they get them from for these transmission's. I will get 3 year 36k warranty and a local shop to service it if problems arise unlike buying Big name trans with noplace to take for warranty issues locally. price will be $3500 total with r&r included.

can anyone fill me in on how different turbo housing sizes will affect performance and who builds the better ones.

What convertor are you using? I ask cause it if is a really tight one, then you many not want the 14 cm exhaust housing. The only thing that you have to watch is running a bigger exhaust housing will slow your spool up, but will allow you to have lower EGT in high throttle applications.

the company gets all of there components for tc and transmission from a co. in canada can't remember the name right now. I discussed this trouble with them they said that the lockup clutch engagement is adjustable so it doesn't engage as harsh under heavy accelleration. what effect will a larger housing cause on a tight converter?

The thing about a good trans is as the HP Bug bites in the trans is always there. Pay the money now and you will be happy later.

Workmanship dictates quality not $$$.

Thanks for the posts OPoole I read a post of yours on another thread about the Hy having driver issues If I go HX35 12cm will I need to change my down pipe I already have 4 inch exhaust. I went to your site and it lists different exit sizes can you clarify for me please. I would like to know if I need a wastegated turbo or not and my what the best options are in this area also.

We have gotten off subject here on the last posts, the transmission is not my concern. I have complete confidence in my local shop and have talked to a lot of there customers that have had the 47re built by them and have several hundred thousand miles on them truoble free. 2 people are dynoed at 500-600 hp and over 1000 ft lbs and sled pull there daily drivers trouble free.

I am trying to find out about turbos and how different housing sizes will affect performance and how a smaller housing is better for the converter can someone explain this to me better. I think that if a smaller housing spools up faster, then the engine revs faster causing harsher feeling at lockup and bigger housing spools slower engine revs slower not as harsh lockup or upshifts.

Can someone explain or correct me with detailed and indepth answers.

I'm not familiar with automatics & how turbine housing size affects them but I do know you really need that wastegate to keep from over boosting. An HX 35 loses efficiency above 35 psi.
