Hello,

I know this question has probably been asked a zillion times  but the clock is ticking on my stock H1C(35+psi :D ), and I am curious what kind of replacement would work the best for me. Right now I'm at about 230/560, with aspirations of 3-400 hp. Maybe more. I've had my eye on a PS62, don't know how it would spool with my current power level until I could get some more fuel  They've got some killer prices on them for the group buy right now. Maybe go 62/12? 14?

Gonna try Non-intercooled for a bit and see how that works? but still need to do the intercooled conversion.

Steven

At your current power level, I think you could spool a 62/12 alright. May be a bit laggy, but the 12 will really help with that.

I put the htt 62/12 on with stock injectors but I dyno'd at 301hp before I put it on. I can spool it alright but I definently wouldn't want any less fuel and try and run it. It is a sweet turbo though if it is a good deal I would get it. If you have a gov. spring it will be alot beter. You'll find yourself winding out the gears much farther.

It will work alright. When you run it intercooled, you will see a nice difference. The intercooler will make the turbo act like it is on a bigger motor (spool-up nicer). If you are wanting to get up to the 400 hp range, go with the 14 cm housing. This will give it a nice flow.

Ok guys, thanks alot.

Hmmmmmmm... ... . decisions decisions

May just have go with a Hx-35 for now until I get some more fuel and intercooler conversion done.

Steven

How about one of HTT's compressor and wheel upgrades? I see alot of guys going that route. Me on the other hand, I'm all about HP and wouldn't waste my time and money on 'little steps'. I would rather jump ahead to a whole new turbocharger platform, such as hx40 or htb2/s300 4" turbo etc. For you, I bet the hx35 would suit you well though.

Hey Bill,

I've thought about the HTT upgrades, but unfortunately I don't think there's much they can do with a non-intercooled H1C :( I'm surprised though, this one has held up pretty good, for 35+ lbs of boost :D

I'd love to have a PS62 or something similiar, but kinda worried it won't spool good enough at my power level, it might, but I don't want to sacrifice driveability right now, until I can get another Cummins anyway :D

Whatever I'm gonna do, there's gonna have to be some fab work, either for the crossover or the intercooler conversion. Gonna take me a bit to put all this stuff together.

Thanks

Not totally true. The guts of the turbo is the same as all H1Cs. You would need one of their compressor wheels and a compressor housing... maybe the mod to the backing plate depending on what stage upgrade.

You can adapt or change out the crossover tube until you do the intercooler.

Steven,

I got an HX-35 from EBay. It sat in the garage for a year. Once I had the money for new injectors, I sent it to HTT for the Stage III upgrade. They put the 60mm wheel and a new intake housing on it. Unfortunately I only had a 35psi boost gauge, but I can peg it easily.

Let me know if you ever need any help. It wouldn't take me that long to get down there. I couldn't match your expertise, but I could do the flunky stuff so you can get the real work done. Scott will back me up on that. :-laf :-laf

Also, I'm not supposed to say anything, but he is planning a larger crossover tube for his 90 (which he is keeping stock. ) Now don't tell Scott I said anything!

Hmmmmmm, I do have a Hx35 sitting around that needs rebuilding :D Might send it off for the works until I can move up a bit.

I'm gathering up some stuff to fab up a new crossover, don't think the old one will work. Gonna be fun to play anyway :-laf

Oh, by the way Phil, remind me not to tell you any secrets... . OK  :-laf

Steven

Phil,

Why not go ahead and post-up my social security number while your at it. :rolleyes: :-{}

You really didn't want that four inch down pipe, apparently.
