Is there a rebuild kit - bearings,seals,gaskets- available for the turbo in our 1st gens? Most of the time that is all the turbo needs to keep it running smoothly. If it goes to the point where the impeller hits the housing you need a complete exchange unit for about $500.

The service manual has proceedures for servicing the turbo, so parts should be available for it.
