Alright guys, I know there are alot of us who can't get enough of the turbo whine Oo. . PondMedic and myself decided to find a way to make it louder for free. We took the intake between the Turbo and the filter housing off. Then we removed the two flex 90*'s. In the plastic canister there are 4Plastic pieces configured in a "X" that we cut out with a sawzall and a long blade. the results are incredible. I am running the BD Xintake on mine without the torque tube and my turbo SCREAMS!! PondMedic is totally stock, with the exception of the silencer ring being removed, and his makes a crisp whistle that is easily heard but not obnoxious. A lot cheaper than the Torque Tube and takes about 10-15minutes to complete. Oo.

On my 04 I followed the instructions from an earlier thread and used two small thin flat blade screwdrivers to pry apart the top of the intake tube at the seam. Then the internal baffle comes out as a round canister and you use sheet metal screws or small machine screws to put it back together and seal it up tight with clear RTV. With the silencer ring out and this baffle gone it's just as Lonestar describes it, nice audible whistle that's not annoyingly loud. The hardest part of the whole operation is having the patience to pry the top off slowly so as not to break it :)

In my quest for a louder turbo myself, I removed the stock black silencer and replaced it with a piece of 5" exhaust tubing. I also removed the silencer ring. The thing still has the sound of a turbo import. No where near the amount of turbo sound I'm looking for. I guess the next step is to install an open element style air filter. :D I guess I'll just have to use one of the tricks I had used on my ol' PSD for the air filter set-up. :-laf

when i made up my home brew torque tube to mate to my BHAF filter setup, i gained a good bit of turbo whine... i like it [a lot :D:D] and with the BD 5" pipes on it, i am happy for the moment...
