Turbo shooting sparks?

I was racing an Evo the other day and i was in 6th gear, 3,450rpm, 41lbs, 1350 egt and my friend who was behind me said that he saw sparks shooting out of my right turbo side wheel wel for about three seconds. Anyone know what it could be? I'm assuming it was coming from my turbo.

probably the clutch. sometimes when i run the pee out of my dozer i get sparks out of the stack??

I think it might be the clutch

LOL We were dead even until 1350egt when my edge starts defueling



My friend said that the sparks were coming from the front right side tire. I saw this on you tube once and it was coming out of the turbo but i don't understand how.

Have you looked in the turbo since the sparks? It seems the turbo is so low on the 06's that any sparks would come out underneath the truck instead of the wheel well. Hope you didn't hurt your ride.

Can't see anything wrong with it and runs great. Oh well... Turned my egt defueling up to 1500 now so that i can take that evo next time. Maybe something happened because my edge was defueling?

Maybe the AC compressor clutch if on defrost.

Or other road debris contacting some steel part or pulley. .

What else do you have on that truck?

Maybe its what was said before, hot carbons flaking off... any exhaust leaks in that area?
