Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Turbo Silencer

Does anyone know if removing the turob silencer will give you any performance gains or does it just cause the turbo to whistle more??

remove it and see how you like it. you can put it back in just as easily as you take it out. you have nothing to lose.

I took mine off the other day. It took me about 2 minutes to do it.

I like the sound improvement. I don't even listen to the radio anymore.

turbo silencer ring?

Does anyone have a picture of the silincer ring in place. i just pulled the the plumming away from the turbo (just to see how things looked) and didn't see anything but the turbo wheel.

Did the silencer not get installed in my rig or am I not looking in the right place?
