I need a turbo upgrade. I've got an 04. 5 3500 w/NV5600. I currently have a vA C3. 2 and EZ with a modded CP3 on the truck. I've got a TST PMCR that I'm waiting on a harness for so that is soon to be going on. I'm planning a set or injectors and ither a smarty or bddl. Something to smooth the edges. I was wondering what size turbo I should get. I do pull about 15000 lbs on occasion. I was something streetable, but still able to pull. The only thing that stays on right now is the EZ on the low setting. When the tst goes on it will also stay off or low (timing). I just want to be able to turn it up without frying everything. The stock charger doesnt cool enough running empty stock, let alone with any upgrades. Again, I'm looking for turbo size. 62/65? 62/71? 64? 66? I'd like to stay with a single charger. Thanks in advance. Jason

I just spoke to the guy at Floor-IT Diesel about some brackets for me ladder bars and he suggested a HTT that is like a 13cm housing 62/71mm, or something to that effect... Hes using one personally and loves it. Uses it about like I would be

Correction... its a 64... ... . I am wanting a turbo that i can turn everything down and tow with, but also turn everything up and run hard and fast empty on occasion without frying everything.

I have towed with a 66 and while it wouldn't be the best choice for someone that tows often it might work for you. You say you tow on occassion... . how many miles a year would that work out too? Because your running a 6 speed you can drop down anytime you want in order to keep the rpm high enough to feed the turbo. I tow all the time so I had to go down to a 62, the 64 might be a good compromise if your worried, I just haven't any experience with one. Cholman on here has one though. I talked to him not long after he put it on and he liked it but said it barked at him real easy, just like the 66 did on mine. I had to keep the rpm up above 1900 when I had the trailer hooked up or it would go nuts. Unloaded though it would scream... literally people would turn and look when they heard its' whistle.

I like whistle..... I hook to the trailer about twice a month... May start picking up this summer. I'm liable to travel the state of missouri. I'm thinking that 64 with the 13 housing and 71 exducer would work out extremely well
