turbo swapping

Hey guy's maybe somebody can help me with this I have a hx35 with a 16 housing on my crewcab right now . But I just ran across a 94 12 valve with a h1c with a wg and a 12-14 housing . If I pull the elbow off the second gen down pipe it look's like a first gen stock down pipe will bolt right back into place ? I have some movement on down pipe so that shouldn't be a Problem if I have to move it back a small amount . I just want to go too a small housing if it will help with pulling power ?If not I am just going to leave it alone . Any Idea's will help . right now the truck run's good and has somewhat good power I have 410 gear's with 37x12. 16. 5 tires and a built 518 auto trans with a tcs converter . and gauges going in this week also boost and Pyro

As far as i can tell the down will work this is what im planning on doing , but i do have the 94s pipe as well just in case

Yes I have a whole truck I am parting out but the small exhaust housing cought my eye and made me start thinking hummmmmmmmmmmm will it work .

I am a little confused about the year of your project truck. What year is it - ???. I am currently running PDRHX35 hybrid coupled to a 14cm WG, an exhaust brake and all using a 2nd Gen down pipe. I like the setup - it works quite well. I see a built 518 so it looks like "1st Gen". I went with that down pipe due to 2 45 degree bends as opposed to 2 90 degree bends. I remember reading that down pipe would work by using a 2nd gen trans filler tube.

Hey Bob yes this will be going onto my crewcab conversion first gen the only reason I don't want to have to swap out down pipe is I already have the Exhaust done truck is my daily driver I am just looking for a little more Performance is all .

My PDRHX35 is as I said a hybrid and I am quite happy with its preformance as a daily driver and a tow vehicle. I do not see why it would not work. My setup keeps EGTs down - especially towing and has no trouble with an 8000 load. If you have any other questions I will be glad to help if I can.

Not to change the subject but is there a huge diffrence on the gen 1 and the gen 2 intercoolers ?

Yes the second gen is HUGH compared to a first gen .
