Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Turbo Talk & Questions.

Hey guys, I am in the process of building up my 98' 12 valve. My question is on the subject of upgrading the turbo. I know there are a lot of opinions on who makes the best turbo's. Since I have been a subscriber to this wonderful forum on good ol dodge trucks, all my problems have been solved by honest answers. So here we go again!!!!! This is what i have looked into: ATS 3000 & 4000 series, Industrial injection's silver bullet but i don't know which would be the best for my application. Looking for some advice guys.



Upgrades I have done:

DDP stg 2 injectors

DDP delivery valves

DDP gov springs 3-4K (not installed yet)

DDP adj fuel plate (set at highest fuel position)

ATS arc flow intake

ATS 3piece manifold

KDP kit

60 Lbs valve springs

ATS stg 3 auto trans, converter w/controller



I am getting 44psi of boost with my stock turbo, but egt's are way to high. I cant stay in the throttle long enough to see how well this ol dodge will really run.

12v turbo

go with twins, flip your ats manifold, use stock hx35 as secondary turbo at manifold, source bw t4 s363s as primary, internet source clearance tubes, boots and clamps, fab hot pipe and down pipe, cummins flex drain tubes. i did this for under $1k, works great, 1050 egt up mont eagle towing at 65 mph. read everything joe has done on twins. 98 12v auto 3. 54 4x4 slt ccab

I dont think you have enough fuel for a silver bullet. Stick with the 71mm turbine wheel at a maximum and get the 62mm compressor. ATS A3K would be ok as well. If you tow alot a 62/65-14 would probably work well too.

ATS has a new 4K coming out with some Ti parts and a WG exh housing. Might be a tad big for your fuel but you could grow into it. Im sure it will be $$$ tho.
