I have a 2007. 5 3500 with about 107000 miles. Today the cel came on and showed U010C which is "lost communication with turbo. " My dad was driving at the time and said the turbo stopped working as well but he said the eb still works. This is my first 6. 7 so I'm new to all the computerized stuff. I'd appreciate any ideas on first steps. We don't have a dodge dealer closer than an hour and a half. Thanks, Thad

The exhaust brake function is created by the turbo. Perhaps the turbo can partially bind so that it won't allow full boost but will create exhaust braking. I've never actually seen the internals of the turbo or experienced a problem with one so don't really know.

I don't think guessing will do you a lot of good. The new engines are electronically controlled and very complex.

I think I've found the solution. The truck had mismatched batteries when we bought it. I replaced them with two brand new ones from another truck, and the cel went off and the turbo works again. I also cleaned all the terminals and the ground connections to the frame, but the gel did not go off until I put in the new batteries.
