First Gen HX35W Sputtering Issues?

Gents, I've spent about 20 hours over the past few days researching turbo upgrades for my first gen. I have used the search function on multiple forums to the best of my ability. I believe I have filled out my signature to include the necessary information. Owned the truck for about a year or so and done a healthy amount of maintenance. Daily driver and I tow a 10k 5th wheel so I want to keep my egts a bit cooler and get a better spool and power. What I'm looking at is the gillett 60 cm housing and I need some advice on exhaust housing (12 vs. 14 cm). In Texas so not a lot of mountain driving. I am not tied to the 60 cm housing but seems like it's a good deal from what I've found. Realistically, the objective is to keep cost low and upgrade my power. If there is a better option that what I'm looking at, any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

12 cm housing with a 60 mm compressor wheel will give you good spool characteristics and good to decent air in the low to mid-range. It will star to suffer at the top end but that is the trade off on housing and compressor sizes on a single.

I have the 14cm on my 93 and I like it. It spools good up at my altitude. I have not done the 60mm upgrade on this truck, but I have had a 35/40-14 before (the dodgezilla with the super 40 wheel), and I loved that turbo. Towed like a dream and made pretty big power (albeit hot) on a decently fueled 98 12v (500ish IIRC).
