Lately when using the EB (check sig) I hear the turbo spool up when the EB is applied. I don't recall hearing that before. Does that mean I have blown a gasket on the input side of the turdo, or is a flex coupling eroded? Where should I look for evidence of a leak? Thanx,

No help here...as I am new to the 6.7 CTD. I picked mine up this last weekend and I have yet to hear the turbo. My 03' spools up nice and loud and I am missing the sound in the new rig. However, if there is a leak somewhere, I would think you would see evidence of it by seeing dirt/dust accumulate or show up around any seams as air rushes by. This is one reason why I try to keep the engine bay clean and wipe it down on regular basis so if there is a problem I will be able to spot it right away.

I am also new to the CTD world but I have heard mine spool up since day one. When the truck was stock the most I ever heard the turbo was when the brake applied, never really heard any other time. Now after some basic mods the turbo can be heard when ever the engine is under load and the turbo spools. I added a boost gauge not to long ago and when the exhaust brake comes on I see boost register on the gauge. I have seen it spike as high as 10 psi but usually it comes up to around 4-6 psi.

Watching the gauges does help with providing feedback on what is going on. I have the 7" display option and I do watch the boost. I can see that the turbo is kicking in and your right...it is around the 4 to 10 psi range so far. As I have not done any towing yet, I have not used the exhaust brake yet or had a good opportunity to put a real load on the truck. Looking forward to springtime to see how it does! My issue right now is trying to find a quality set of stainless step bars to bolt on. Been to three different shops and all over the net looking at bars. I did order an extang cover for the bed about hour ago!
