turbo whistle

OK, how do I get the turbo whistle on my new 03. ? I know my 01. 5 had a silencer ring. What exactly do these have?

Same silencer ring. I removed mine. The big tube with the baffles in it reduce the intake howl. Those will stay. I can't stand the roaring howl at higher rpm.

When you load up the truck (pulling trailer, campers etc) just step on it when you hit a good grade it will sing. if you have a mountain of rock on your passenger side you can really here it. Just roll down the windows



I have heard guys 03's, that got those (Eliminator Pipe $50 from Genosgarge.com) and you hear the turbo almost all the time. Most guys put back on the silencer after there first long trip.

A new air filter (not a replacement for the stock drop in) setup will make her sing very nicely.

OK, so it is pretty much the same as my ole 01. 5. I knew there was something about the tube having baffles and I wasn't sure if DC had done away with the silencer ring or not. The wife won't let me put tools under the hood of this one yet. It's only a matter of time before my wallet get's thinner than it already is from the 01. :--)
