Turbo

I have 95 ext cab 3500 5 speed. Some add ons include a tst kit-pacbrake-remote fuel filter-gauges ect. Every winter I experience what seems to be sticking turbo. After starting out it acts like a real dog, black smoke will come pouring out and the egt will skyrocket and boost shows o. Of course I back off and pull over. Eventually you feel something release and everything is normal. Does anyone have any idea as to what is actually happening?

Sounds like youre pacbrake is staying closed.

Sounds to me like it is in the exhaust brake. Simple test: Remove air inlet hose at turbo, crank the truck, and you should see/hear the turbo spinning.

That is the PacBrake sticking. How old is your PacBrake? Mine used to stick in colder wather so I contacted them. They said the earlier cylinders used Viton seals, wich tend to not seal in colder temps and the cylinder does not work untill it warms up. They have switched to Buna seals and sent me a cylinder at No Charge.
