Does anyone no what turbo will stand up to the TST powermax cr ? And are there really that many turbos being blown with the TST ?

What settings with what mods seem to be safe - I would like to use at least 125 hp out of this module or more - more is better.

Thanks.

I ran a search and I can't find any blown turbos with TST other then Walcott's. But since TST is putting out more power then all the others that would be the one that would break more stuff if you aren't cautious. So it wouldn't surprise me.

That's common sense and I'm getting a little annoyed more of it (common sense) isn't being demonstrated. That isn't directed at you RadRam it's directed at all the folks that are grousing about having to take responsibility to do a balanced build up with their trucks -- as if adding a box alone would help it breath better or fuel better or clutch grip better... . please. Get real.

Do we need to revisit "You are your own warranty station" and "pay to play"?

When it's your stuff that breaks it really stinks -- I know! But when you play don't gripe about paying!!!!

As for turbos; I'm looking for a good one too! I can't decide how extreme I want to get...

Hey I agree totally about the - If you want to play you pay.

I just want to pay up front and get the proper turbo so I can use the extra power of the TST - Or most of it anyways.

I think the TST is a module anyone can use - wisely. JMO.

Im just not to wise sometimes !

It has taken out a couple of KSB-1's but who can say whether it was operator or product related failure.

>1800* + boosting beyond press specs + excess energy on turbine = wrecked turbo

any questions?

I dont think these egt gauges are quick enough to pick up the imediate spike in temps either

plus, you need to ease into the throttle and ease back out

not quick on and quick off

(that in itself will wreck a stocker over time)

I saw a noobie in a cummins last weekend in the twin cities, quick on and quick off the throttle and to the wood

he for sure will go through turbo(s) (multiple)

at this point there has been no single turbo that will handle 9/9, or at least ,if there is , no one is telling

there are some twins out there

havent heard too many honest answers as to how they are handling 9/9

from what ive gathered, twins may be the only answer + a cam + o - ringed head + rail mods

or

keep your fingers off the buttons and keep it at a low setting

re:turbo's

When we get to vegas in may, ask Kenny ofTurbo Auto Diesel,He's the manufacturer of the B-1,B-2,And new B-52 due out shortly! He has plenty of stories of blown turbo's across the nation. I promise you'll get a earful.

An 03 or 04 with a TST needs twins, or a big slow spooling turbo. I think if you bought the regular B-1 with the 16cm housing, 98-02 24v 3 piece manifold, and put a 98-02 down pipe, the turbo would live and work great. . But twins are still the way to go

I'm running the DD Jammer turbo and it does good. Its wastegated at 40lbs. and I can hit it fast. I am able to use 163 hp over stock from the TST box (with Edge stacked) and thats on level 6/6 and Edge 4. Levels above 6/6, with or without Edge stacked, twins are the only solution right now to fully utilize the fuel.

when I got my ksb1 from PDR harry said not to go over 50 psi or she may go boom or the head gasket may blow. My question is why is there no wastgate? the housing is setup for a wastgate it looks like it just needs the actuator and a place to get a boost signal... am i missing something?

JMO

Just a question, but once we get a turbo that will hold 9/9, won't the head gasket be next?. The mean effective pressure in the combustion chamber is so high once fueled past 5/5 there is a ton of undue stress on head bolts, cylinder packs, crankshaft, and basically the rest of the powertrain. We should not expect TSTs box to be used for daily drivers past 4/4, should we? They have really come out with a good product, but it's surely use at your own risk.

I agree, I keep mine on 4/4 and occasionally venture up to 5/6. Thats about 80 to 100+ H. P. gain and I think your pushing things if your stock and go beyond that.

I am o-ringing my head at the same time that the twins go on. Head gaskets blowing will be the next issue when we can keep the egt's down.
