The max. boost on my truck is/always has been 19#. When I am towing the trailer at 70 mph (2000 rpm) and need to accelerate (climb a grade or pass) I show something less than 19# boost, probably 17/18#. It will not come up no matter how hard I push the accelerator (without downshifting) until in fact it does downshift and then the rpms go to 2600 rpm and the boost goes to max. Is the turbo not sized right for this engine or is the rpm not right for this setup. I noticed that the 04s have a smaller diameter turbo, 3:73 ratio too. Any thoughts??? bg

Check for a boost leak in your gauge plumbing. They tend to crack where the tubing enters the fitting at the engine.

17, 18, 19 What's a couple a psi amongst friends? No problems that I see, it's a stock truck right? Waste gate opens to maintain pressure at around 20 psi. If you want more boost you need more fuel! Yea, you might be able to gain a little with a boost elbow but you will need a boost fooler (electronic gadget) to keep from setting a code in the computer. If'n you get yourself an Edge EZ or VA module it'll come with the boost fooler and the boost elbow, everything you need. Then you'll get some more boost and some more:eek:
