2006 Jake Brake to turbo gasket?

48RE Transmission slipping 1st gear and 2nd gear

So I've been looking at replacing perhaps upgrading the turbo in my signature truck due to a warp on the turbine flange, but I cannot get a straight answer as to what turbo I'm trying to replace. Fleece Performance says based on my VIN need the 03-04 turbo (HE 341 I believe) and also a lookup on Cummins Parts by ESN says I have a HE341 also, however, the data plate on the cover says I have the ISB 325, which is the high output "600" engine I'm pretty sure. So I thought I'd pose it to you guys... Do I have an HE 341 or HE351CW on my truck? Is it possible that the older turbo was mated to the newer engine or do I in fact have the 351? What's the easiest way to tell? Any advice or help is much appreciated!

Pretty simple to ID the HE351CW. It has the electronic solenoid for the waste gate.

Scott, thanks to your info, I did a quick crawl-under and determined that I have the HE351CW, and apparently Fleece's info is incorrect, as my truck VIN is supposed to have the 341 (10th digit is a 4 and supposedly anything 4 and lower is the 341). Thanks for the quick reply, it saved me several internet searches haha!

On a side note I noticed you also have a 351CW on your 12 valve...how did you mate the electronic turbo up to that non-computerized engine? How does it perform?

The 10th digit designates it’s a 2004, but, 2004 was a split year.

It’s better than the HX35. Spools quicker and EGTs are lower.

I took the actuator off and fabbed a spring gate. It opens @ 35psi. You can’t see it in these pics, it’s on the bottom. It’s basically a tab with a spring off a Yoshimura motorcycle exhaust from the tab to the lever.

Anything else aside from changing the Turbo itself to help a 24V to spool faster and have more boost at a lower rpm?
My buddy is quite envy on my 3rd Gen with full boost at 1800rpm whereas he needs at least 2200rpm.
