Has anybody ran the larger turbo from htt. the 66mm compressor side, and the 14 cm turbine side. I am thinking about trying one unless i get some other opinions otherwise

Lots of people have run and are running that turbo. But that doesn't mean it's right for you. You have to be moving A LOT of fuel to get that SP66 to spool up, not to mention the ability for your engine to breathe properly with that large a turbo that flows much more air than stock.

Fill out your signature in the User Control Panel so we know what kind of truck you have and what mods you have dones to it. :)

The bigger singles are more prone to surge on a 12v.

As Joe said it's best to try and match the turbo to your fueling and application. Bigger is not always better.

I have one on my truck now. I have no complaints. I previously had the HTT 64/12 which also worked well. Spool is super fast but the 12 cm ex. housing kinda hurt the topend, 3000 rpms and above. My old turbo is now on my buddies truck now whick is the same as mine but has 181 DVs and 370 injectors. Just about perfect for his set up. As far as the surging problem goes I have not noticed any surging with the SP66. I did have some with the HTT 64/12 turbo though. Unless you have some bigger delivery valves or big EDM injectors you might want to opt for the HTT 64/12 set-up.

I got my sig. to work I hope. I have a set of dragonflow inj. but i am not putting them on until i change to either a super single, or twins. I am kinda leaning toward twins.

Man, if your going to run dragonflow injectors I would save up and twin it. I have just heard those dragonflows flow like the name, so they are just absolutely dumping fuel in. What are your EGTs right now with the set-up you have? Running no plate wth 370's you ought to have some serious EGTs. I think it is time for you to start looking for the best twin options out there cuz a SP66 will be just a little "underkill" for your future mods.

my egts arent bad at all i mean if i am pushing it hammer down with 10k behind me i can get it up to about 1400 but most of the time around 650

so how about the sp66 and doing the hb3 for the other in the twin. that is what htt recommends. the guys there told me that the sp66 is doing as well as their twins most of the time

I also have one of J. R. 's 55's, no problems with surging here, turbo is definitely tough. Give J. R. Adkins a call, he'll fill you in about it.

htt 66 here just put it on no surging they had a little problem with surging when the 66 first came out but have eliminated that problem man i love research and development

has anyone tried the holset pro 52 I heard that it is pretty good also better for sled pulling?

i seem to remember someone buying one but not installing it because they found out it was weak. i could be wrong and im sure someone will chime in and correct me. ill be getting a htt 64/14 pretty soon. the s300 seems to be the popular choice right now.

Maybe somebody will know the specs on it, as I'm not sure, he has many varations of the hx55, all depends what you want to do with your truck. I sledpulled the crap out of my hx55 this year with no problem.

here's some video of first pull with hx55
