Competition Need help,.. defueling problem

Competition Dyno Day in NW PA this sat

s500 I know nothing about, but it would have to be a 4500+ rpm setup to get that lit, or a set of twins. It is tough to compare cause you can get an s300 that has a larger compressor than the smaller s400's. What exact info are you wanting?

ZStroken/JWilliams

I recently taked with ATS and they are putting together compounds using the turbos I sought info on. I needed to get an idea of what levels these turbos were at to see if they matched my needs. That info you provided was a help,... tks.

BD has made there twins for years with those turbo's you mentioned involved, so ats should not have a issue making them work well.

Phat shaft (and super and SB) And HTT 62, 64, 66 = S300

High Tech Turbo HTB2 and 71 Series= S300

TAD B1's=S300

TAD B2=S400 (75mm inducer @ compressor) OEM part number 171702

Alot of good info on S300 from Borg Warner:

http://www.bullseyepower.com/s300bigsheet.htm

Here is an excellent page for info on Borg Warner Turbos:

So with all those well known turbo's comparing to a S300 how does say an Aurora500 come into that? or is that based off a Borg Warner also?

I guess it depends on if both of them had the little recessive gene :-laf . Actually the original K31 isn't that great of a charger. The ones you want are the ones with the extended tip compressor wheel. I wouldn't necessarily say that k31 is a better charger. I saw a 71mm GT42 put 30 feet on several guys running A5K's at the friday pull at scheid. Their are many variants of s400. I think you can get from from a around a 2. 5" inducer to at least 3"

Hey now there Dan! lets keep this civil. For the publics information that same truck was 5 feet behind an Aurora 5000 a week before the Scheid pull.

I wont name names to protect the innocent... . :-laf

The only K31 I would consider is the Borg Warner Peformance K31 (PN 172743) with extended tip and forged billet milled compressor wheel.

Who mentioned names?? That is the beauty of the internet, just telling one situation and forget about the one you don't like!! Yea I remember the gaston pull, but wasn't that a rookie driver in that truck??

LOL true true, but I can think of a pull where the veteran only put about 2 feet on me and I think at scheid the following day he only put 2 or 3 also. The key is consistency and I don't have it with my truck. One day it runs good, the next time, it doesn't. I was suffering from PCM problems at gaston, hence the accidental shifting to drive followed by the abrupt down shift to second and about 4000 rpm.

Big swings in power

I don't know if this would help you or not but a recent investigation I went through to discover what can cause huge swings of power from run to run or day to day came up with two things. A bad relief valve and a faulty fca valve or faulty installation of the fca valve.
