Go to Radio Shack and buy a Piezo buzzer or chime. Solder the leads to the blades of your flasher. Polarity is important so use a VOM to see which blade is +.
Radio Shacks smallest Piezo can be soldered into the flasher and then stuck to the top of its case with 2-sided. It will still clear the hatch cover on the dash AND should you EVER find that the beeping causes a significant other to make more noise (just kidding honey) you just exchange it temporarily for stock.
Just so you know... thelater year trucks(mine is 2001) have a new and better idea(Like Ford used to advertise) flasher. It's a mini-computerized flasher for both the 4-way hazard type and turn signals and instead of . 99 of a dollar like the old 552 type flashers this new one has a price tag of about $200. so says the 5star man. Mine was replaced under warranty. Oh well!
RClark, The DRBIII scan tool can activate the chime to sound when the vehicle has gone atleast 1 mile and is traveling at 25mph or above. This is done at the dealer.
