Coming from town this evening I put on my right turn signal. The radio started getting real staticcy. . staticy. . it had a lot of static every time the light was supposed to light. Only it didn't light. The left works fine. It does the same thing with the 4ways. Right bad, left good.

I know it's a probably a wire grounding somewhere. Any ides where to start looking? It will be tomorrow, as it's in a dark driveway.

Yes clean the socket... happened to mine once. It doesn't take much corrosion. . it looked ok but after cleaning it worked again.

Not exactly what I meant. The ground contact broke inside the plug. Wire was good to ground. Outer housing good to ground. But the ground button at the bottom of socket was disconnected from the wire. This was a two contact single fillament bulb. The ground was backtracking all over the place and causing all sorts of wacky stuff.

RR,

I didn't get that either, so didn't check that today. The contacts were still good, with grease in them. I can't find any obvious breaks in insulation.

You know how the radio "dial" light will dim when you turn on the lights. When I'm signaling right, with the radio off, it will cause the lights to flicker dim, bright, dim...

Maybe something under the dash?

Got a spare headlight switch? I have had the switch do weird things. I had it leave my dome light on over night once. Still had some juice, but I took the light out til I got a new switch.

Daniel, I just replaced that switch and there isn't any indication that it's overheated or anything strange. I've had them go haywire before, but never had it affect anything else, like the radio.

Tugger,

Drive north to Ct and you can run my boat to my summer slip. Just don't turn right... . just make left turns.

I have no clue how this will solve you problem but it can't hurt.

Check the grounds behind the radio on the dash brace. Mine were loose and caused all kinds of weird things!! Also check the right fender where the antenna bolts in it may be loose or corroded!!!!!!!!

Tim

Sounds goofy, but I would check the main body grounds at the rad support. if there is a loop there with the radio ground under the dash??

Also I would suspect the ground closest to the flasher unit before the tallight area. There are two main grounds if I recall correctly (Been a while since I was under the dash); one near the radio, the other in the steering column area.

Good Luck with the electrical gremlins.
