Yes a big thank you goes to robbynne for his post. That is what I followed to get the IPM it apart. Unfortunately, like our forum, the pictures are no longer available, which hurts threads immeasurably. Luckily his write up was excellent which gave me the confidence to give it a go. Turns out there is a circuit board repair place near where I work so I'll see what they want to fix it.

Well the only circuit board repair place that would touch it was $250 minimum and a 4 week lead time (unless you wanted to pay an extra 25% of the total bill to rush it). After browsing a few circuit board repair websites and watching a few videos I gave it a go using a piece of copper wire hammered flat. Its butch but it works! Blinkers are functional again!

Did you coat the repair with anything to help prevent future corrosion??

The worst part was cleaning the epoxy coating off the copper trace in preparation for soldering to it. Care must be taken to not tear up the copper too much and not to go into other areas. Luckily the copper trace was wide making the repair easier for my bull in a china shop approach. I ended up using a Dremel and exposed some of the trace next to the bad one. That had to be re-epoxied so it would not be accidently soldered to during the repair. After soldering the copper piece an epoxy coating was applied over top of the repair. Once that cured dielectric grease was applied to the repaired spot as well as any spots (on both sides of the board) where any of the protective coating was missing. The picture above was before the grease was applied. I view this as a temporary fix while I shop around for a good used IPM, maybe trying the U-Pull it yards to get one at a decent price. It would be nice if just a brand new circuit board could be purchased…..
