turn signal wiring on utne

Am just getting around to installing my new Utne bumper on my '99 3500. Anybody know what the extra wire would be for on the Utne corner turnsignal assembly???? The oem turnsignal has 3 wires, the corner turn signal on the Utne has 4 wires. ???

One is for a "running light". The clear lense.

The other is for the turn signal.

I believe there are seperate grounds for each.

I just wired mine so both lights blink.

I thought it would be neat if I could get the clear light to stay on when I had the blinker on,(like you see on the high end cars) but I dont know how to do this.

Hint, hint Randy......

:{ I think you'll find that it's a flexible solution for different markets that have different requirements for turn signals and running lights, hence different (isolated) circuits for different jobs. I am surprised the paperwork you got was ambiguous though? I checked the .pdf file available off the Ute website and it's pretty informative.



Oh and by the way, I am pleased for you but still jealous. My own front bumper has yet to make it to Europe and I expect an updated status from Randy the Uteman any day now..... hint, hint.....

clear light to stay on

my friend tells me (in order to get the white lite to stay on: White wires (with the black stripe in it) to the pure black wire;, green wire (with the black stripe) to the green wire with the light green stripe); and red wire with the black stripe to the black wire with the yellow stripe. My friend tell me that this will get the the white lite to stay on while the amber lights blink (as the turn signal).

Hey guys just picked my ute ltd up at a friends in Michigan. Bought it from a fellow TDR member for TX, He upgraded to the 03 truck. So finished installling it and it looks awesome. Will have picures soon. But thanks for the info for the wiring for the turn signals. This will save some time. How did you guys make the connections, did you solder or use quick connects or what.
