My turn signals quit working a couple days ago. At first it was just the passenger side. Now it is both sides. None of the lights come on, not even the indicators on the instrument panel. Checked the fuse, changed the flasher itself and still nothing. Bulbs are all good as the emergency flashers and brake lights still operate normally. Could it be the multifunction switch? Anyone else ever have this happen? Need to get it fixed soon as I drive in a town with heavy traffic and need signals. How difficult is it to change the switch?

When my multi-function switch quit my high beam went on the minute I started my truck. That being said that switch controls quite a bit of functions on the truck so it could be the source of your problem. The switch cost me less than $50. 00 at a dealer ship. If I remember correctly you will need a locking torx bit to get it off. By using your 4 ways you now know that the lights and wiring are all right.

Good luck

Be sure you changed the correct flasher module, there are two... one for the flashers and one for turn signals.

The control stalk can do a lot of funny things. I've had some that will quit on the turn signal function on just one side... . Usually, if you work it back and forth several times, they'll go a bit longer... . but... Sometimes that pin just loses contact.

Changing it isn't bad. Just pull the lower plastic housing, then the upper housing by unscrewing the tilt knob, if you have it, and it should be pretty obvious... .

Good luck.

I also swapped places with the two flashers. I will get a new switch and replace it. It is the original switch so I guess it's time for something to fail.

I found out that the 92 switch is the same as used on my 2000 (according to interchange 91 through 2003 trucks use the same switch assembly). I will take the one from my 2000 and plug it into the 92 to verify before buying a new one.

A lot of times the switch contacts just need to be cleaned, so you might just pull it and try that before buying a new switch.

Turned out to be the flasher. When my grandson swapped the 2 flashers, he didn't turn the key on to check. However while I was in there I noticed the ignition switch was discolored and you could bump it and the radio would come on, with the key off. So I replaced it.
