While driving today, my turn signals quit. All the bulbs are good and the hazzard flashers still work. All the fuses are good. The turn signals will flash once or twice then quit. Some times they work perfectally, other times they will not work at all.

Any ideas on how to remedy this problem would be much appreciated.

The truck is a 01. 5 with every option except leather and CD.

Thanks in advance,

-Rich

I don't know about your '01, but on my '95 the hazzard uses a different flasher than the turn signals. If that is the case on yours then you probably just have a bad turn signal flasher.

Swap your hazard flasher and your turn signal flasher. If your turn signals work, then you will know that it is your flasher. There is a heavy duty flasher that you can buy if you are towing, since it is also driving your trailer flashers. You will find the flasher in your fuse box.

Be aware that on your model year 2001 Ram, emergency flasher and turn signal flasher are a single device. This combination flasher is a D/C only item. It is described as containing 'active electronic Integrated Circuitry elements". The factory service manual cautions that if the combination flasher is replaced with an ISO-relay, component and vehicle damage may occur.

The FSM further states that the combination flasher cannot be tested with conventional automotive electrical test equipment.

I'd take a look at the switch.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

I replaced the turn signal relay this morning. It fixed the problem and only cost $25. 00. The '01 have a integrated turn/flasher relay, making switching the two for testing not possble.
