How do I turn the chime off? You know, the one that tells me the lights are on, the door is open, the keys are in the ignition, when fuel is low, when the "Check Guages" light comes on.

My oil pressure sender is acting up. I have not had a time to go look at it yet and in the meantime I want the ding DONE! I think it has a short and goes off, on, off on, and everytime it goes off the light comes on and it dings. Last night on our two hour trip back from Fort Collins it must have done it 40 times. I want it to stop!

Thanks, Nick

Not sure if a 99 ,is the same as my 95, mine was in the blue color box under the knee panel just to the right of the steering wheel shaft. Take it out and remove the small silver metal plate in it, that;s the bell.

You can remove the Central timing module (CTM) from the truck but you will loose the intermittent wipers and other timing related features on a non high line CTM on the high line model you will also disable the remote keyless entry and alarm etc. you can also remove the speaker from the module by either cutting it free from the PCB or better use a solder sucker and remove the solder from the leads and pull the speaker off ( that way you can reinstall it later if you want)
