Had dealer do it for me but I think the owners manual has a procedure for it. Not sure just thinking out loud.

EDIT: Oh, just remembered, that the Laramie pkg has some of these functions in the overhead display

Yep, just follow the procedure in the owners manual. You can also program whether you unlock all doors with one push, or driver then passengers with 2 hits on the keyless entry. :)

Page 19 right side by the black #2 is where the horn feature is. Knew it was there just for a TDR mbmr, braved the winds to get the manual and look it up (U owe me NOTHING - payback for my questions ;) ).

God bless you people! I haven't used the key fob to lock the truck because of that embarassing chirp. That made my day in an otherwise rainy situation!

Had mine done as I "cycle" the locks at night quite a bit. Dont need the neighborhood more  at me. hehehe... ... .

I mostly use the door lock switch when get out of the truck.

I find the "chirp" useful when the truck is in the garage or elsewhere when I just want to check. I never use the fob when I park the truck at the mall, etc because I have heard that thieves have scanners that can pick up the signal. I also enjoy using the chirp feature when my wife walks by the truck :D .

Got my 06 4x4 3500 Mega cab today. All of the auto door unlock and horn sounding during lock directions are mixed up in the manual. I saw an addendum pamphlet in another truck I test drove but the one I bought did not have it of course. The only thing right in my manual was the disable 15 mph door lock. Here is what I discovered. .

Open all doors with one unlock command: In truck, ignition on, hold lock botton on remote for >4 <10 seconds, then press the unlock (while still holding lock button) and hold it for a few seconds. NO CHIME or any other indication but it works.

Disable horn honk when locking: In truck, ignition on, hold lock button on remote for >4 <10 seconds, then press the panic (while still holding lock button) for a few seconds. Again, NO CHIME or any other indicator but that killed the horn honk.

Nobody at my dealer had any idea, my salesman said pull the fuse. . If I sold 40-50K trucks for a living, you can bet I would know all of this and offer to setup each customers truck. Takes 3 minutes if you know the commands. Took me 35 minutes after failing per the manual dozens of times. .

Hope this helps anyone with the same problems I had. My manufacture date is Jan, 2006.

I just picked up my brand new 2006 Ram this afternoon and the horn doesn't work at all. Is it possible for the horn to be totally disabled?

You do not need to have the ignition on in order to program the truck chirp or number of doors to unlock at once. You just need the key fob with the truck off and go through the rest of the steps you outlined.

I just posted what I read from the owners manual. . Did not try it without ignition on, course the procedures were all transposed. The process for the horn honk was de-activated by following the steps outlined to disable the light flash, etc. .
