Hi, I'm having a tough time adjusting my TV cable on my 96. The throttle lever on the front of the engine I believe is the problem. When the throttle cable is pulled on the the top of the lever the tv cable movement should coincide with it on the bottom of the lever. Mine doesn't. I can move the throttle cable 1/2 to 1" before the tv cable moves. The problem appears to be in the linkage itself. In other words, if I move the throttle lever, the lever the tv cable is attached to lags behind and wont start moving until the throttle lever has moved about 1/2". This is making trying to adjust the tv cable tough. Any ideas? Thanks Anthony

You need to reduce the slack in the cable by adjusting the cable at the throttle if you can not get enough adjustment at the throttle bend the bracket on the trans back

I appreciate the help. I've got the throttle bracket apart replacing the two bushings in it. With the steel linkage rod disconnected from the bell crank at the rear of the pump I notice resistance when I move the bell crack lever with the engine off. I assume this is due to the engine off without the rack within the pump turning. Am I correct in thinking this? I think it's this resistance which is causing the lever that the the tv cable is attached to to lag behind the throttle lever with the engine off. Any help greatly appreciated. Anthony

I tore the throttle bracket apart, replaced the bushings, adjusted the throttle linkage rod which was bent, and finally adjusted the tps. All is well: 1-2 shifts @15 mph, 2-3@ 25-30 depending upon throttle.

Nice! I did the bushings too, no bent parts, and though I could feel lots of play as shown in Goerends video, The bushings didn't seem very worn. It is lots tighter, and no more shuttle shift!
